Another young patient has been cured of a severe diagnosis at Iashvili Hospital. During a routine outpatient check-up, doctors discovered a 6-centimeter growth near the liver gate and aorta in a 5-year-old boy. After examinations, doctors diagnosed a liver tumor and decided on immediate surgical intervention. “During the examination, we discovered a large retroperitoneal mass that was invading the liver structures. Surgical treatment was necessary to remove the tumor. The operation was performed by me, Zviad Buliskeria, and my Indian colleague, Sanjay Kumar Goja, who periodically visits Georgia. The surgery was performed at M. Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital and, considering its technical complexity and other risk factors, it was completed very successfully without complications,” recalls transplantologist Kakhaber Kashibadze. Through the doctors’ efforts, the tumor was completely removed from the young patient. The post-operative period was also successful. The boy’s condition is absolutely satisfactory, and he has returned to his normal lifestyle.
