The main causes of gastroenterological pathologies in pediatric patients are viral and bacterial infections, dietary factors, anatomical, genetic, autoimmune and functional disorders (colic, gastroesophageal reflux, inflammatory bowel diseases, gastritis and many others ). At Iashvili Children’s Hospital’s Gastroenterology Center, the diagnosis–management of these and other pathologies is successfully carried out. Additionally, diagnosis of acute and chronic liver and pancreatic diseases, correction of eating disorders, management of complex pathologies, such as anorexia, celiac disease, cystic fibrosis.
In the Gastroenterology Center Any method of gastrointestinal tract examination is available: computed tomography, X-ray examination, contrast studies, endoscopic examinations (gastroscopy, colonoscopy), which ensures accurate diagnosis and facilitates the selection of correct treatment tactics.
When necessary, surgical treatment of gastrointestinal tract diseases is performed using modern methods. This includes, interventions on the gallbladder, esophagus, rectum, large intestine, liver, pancreas and bile ducts.
