Ivane Chkhaidze is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Pediatrics Department at Tbilisi State Medical University, and Medical Director of M. Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital. He also chairs the Pediatric Council in the VIAN network. He is:

Head of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG);
Member of the Authorization Council of Higher Educational Institutions;
Chairman of the Board of the Georgian Respiratory Association;
Member of the National Council of Clinical Practice Guidelines;
Member of the European Respiratory Society (ERS);
Member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS);
Expert of the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP);
Member of the European project The Susy Safe;
National expert of the Harmonised Education in Respiratory Medicine for European Specialists (HERMES) project;
He is the author of 16 national guidelines. He has published 262 scientific papers, 36 of which are included in the US National Library of Medicine search system (PubMed.Gov). He is also a member of the editorial boards of Polish (Pneumologia i Alergologia Polska), Serbian (Preventivna Pedijatrija), Greek (PNEUMON), and Ukrainian (Astma ta alergia) medical journals. Additionally, Ivane Chkhaidze serves as Editor-in-Chief of the “Georgian Respiratory Journal.”
In 2015, Ivane Chkhaidze was awarded the National Prize in Medicine.
