Nino Solomonia MD

Nino Solomonia is a physician with 20 years of experience in neonatology, one of the founders of the Georgian Association of Neonatologists and a member of the association’s board. She heads the Neonatal and Pediatric Critical Care Department at Iashvili Children’s Hospital. She also coordinates the neonatology residency program at VIAN.

She graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University with a degree in pediatrics and completed her internship program in pediatrics at M. Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital. Before going abroad, she worked in several pediatric clinics in Tbilisi. To advance her qualifications, she completed several clinical courses outside Georgia, including at the Cork Epileptological Pediatric Center (Germany) and the pediatric department of Marburg Children’s Hospital (Germany).

Nino Solomonia is one of the co-authors and main coordinators of the grant program titled: Asthma and Its Management in High-Risk Patients (Kirkpatrick Family Medicine Center, USA).

She also completed a qualification course at the Perinatal Medicine Center of Huron Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. After successfully completing American licensing examinations, she was awarded the American ECFMG certificate. Additionally, Nino Solomonia completed a 4-year clinical fellowship course in neonatology at the University Hospital of Kentucky. During her fellowship, she held the title of Chief Fellow in the neonatal fellowship program. She was the winner of the Young Neonatologists Scientific Conference.

During her fellowship, she was a co-author of one of the chapters in the anniversary edition of the neonatology manual (Gomella’s Neonatology). She holds a medical license from the state of Kentucky. It should also be noted that she has completed specialized neonatal program courses in the USA: NRP and STABLE. She also holds regional instructor certificates for the respective programs.

Nino Solomonia is a co-author of several national guidelines in Georgia. She is also the author of VIAN’s neonatal continuing medical education program and a member of the pediatric medical expert council in the network. Her name is associated with numerous medical publications and scientific research.
