Vladimir Tsikarishvili MD, PhD

Dr. Vladimir Tsikarishvili is the country’s leading neurosurgeon who heads the Neurosurgery Service at Iashvili Children’s Hospital. His name is associated with hundreds of complex brain surgeries performed on infants and children.

He is a member of the Georgian Society of Neurosurgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS), and AOSpine Europe. He has published over 30 scientific papers and is the author of 2 monographs. Additionally, in 2009, he edited the Georgian translation and adaptation of the clinical guidelines for managing aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage developed by the American Heart and Stroke Associations.

Vladimir Tsikarishvili received his education in Georgia and Russia. He studied at the Burdenko Institute of Neurosurgery. For professional development, he completed clinical internships at world-leading clinics, including Mayo Clinic (pediatric neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery), National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London (spine surgery), Charité Hospital in Berlin (vascular neurosurgery), Federico II University Hospital in Naples (endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery), and University Hospital Tübingen (skull base surgery).
