The Department of Pediatric Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine provides comprehensive medical care to critically ill pediatric patients from 28 days to 18 years of age. The medical staff, including doctors and nurses, work as a team in the treatment and management process. The following services are available:
- Pediatric anesthesia, which involves optimal pain management using customized dosing of modern medications during and after surgical procedures;
- Critical pediatric patient resuscitation (PICU), which includes intensive monitoring of critically ill patients and modern procedures necessary for recovery;
- Pain management service, which combines pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions according to unique needs;

The department is equipped with modern medical infrastructure and equipment and successfully manages critical conditions, caused by the following types of multi-profile diseases: respiratory system injuries, acute leukemia, acute and chronic neurological diseases, polytrauma (neurotrauma, abdominal and kidney traumatic injuries), congenital metabolic disorders, rare diseases and many others.
Additionally, the department successfully performs renal replacement therapy (peritoneal and hemodialysis) for acute kidney failure, management of life-incompatible conditions caused by genetic mutations, intracranial pressure monitoring of neurosurgical patients, and many other services.
