The Department of Orthopedics–Traumatology and Spine Surgery provides specialized services focused on treating traumatic injuries and diseases of the musculo–skeletal system and muscular tissues. 0-The team provides 24–hour service to pediatric patients from 18 years and under.
Complex surgeries, primarily, are performed using minimally invasive methods and include the globally approved MIPO technique, which involves inserting a special plate through minimal incision for bone fracture stabilization. The use of titanium elastic nails also represents a modern approach.
In the department successfully we perform pelvic–hip joint and bone–muscular system congenital and acquired deformities surgical treatment, joints contracture corrective procedures, limbs congenital and correction of acquired deformities and uneven length, tendon lengthening–shortening procedures, musculo–skeletal system benign tumor surgery, correction of various traumatic injuries and deformities, and more.
The success rate of spine surgery at Iashvili Children’s Hospital is also noteworthy. All types of spinal deformities and pathologies are treated both surgically and conservatively. Among the widely prevalent conditions, we treat various types of scoliosis, kyphosis, intervertebral disc hernias, torticollis, rib hump, and unstable spine and coccyx deformities.
